From the start, this passage mortise lock allows the latchbolt to retract freely from either side using the knob or lever at all times, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted access. As a result, it is ideal for applications where traffic flow matters but visual indication is still required.
In addition, turning the inside thumbturn changes the state of the status indicator to show occupancy or availability. However, rotating either knob or lever returns the indicator to its previous state, maintaining intuitive and user-friendly operation. Because of this design, the 8866FL provides clear communication without restricting access. Moreover, this function is available only with V-Series indicators, and the indicator option code must be specified when ordering.
