The Accentra 8822FL Dormitory / Exit Mortise Lock provides strong security for dormitories, student housing, and exit doors. As part of the ASSA ABLOY ACCENTRA® 8800 Series, it delivers reliable performance for areas with heavy daily use.
First, this dormitory or exit function allows the latchbolt to retract by the knob or lever from either side. Next, the deadbolt operates by key on the outside and by thumbturn on the inside. When the deadbolt projects, it automatically locks the outside knob or lever to help prevent unwanted entry.
At the same time, the lock supports safe and fast egress. Turning the inside knob or lever retracts both the latchbolt and deadbolt together. As a result, the outside trim unlocks automatically, ensuring anti-panic operation during emergencies.
In addition, the 8822FL simplifies installation and service. It features field-reversible handing and standard door preparation. Moreover, the reinforced stainless steel deadbolt adds strength, while the heavy-duty trim resists abuse. Together, these features help the lock meet ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 standards for long-lasting use.
